Slip on your comfiest socks and turn up your favorite album. The recipe is the kind that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Enjoy it.  

Dough

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 stick butter, room temp
  • 1/3 cold water

Directions:

1. Combine ingredients and kneed by hand.

2. Spread flour over working surface and begin to flatten the dough

3. Roll onto sheet, let dough sit in refrigerator for 1 hour

Filling

Ingredients:

  • Three large apples
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees
  2. Combine dry ingredients in bowl
  3. Slice apples into thin slivers
  4. Combine apples, dry ingredients and melted butter together
  5. Stir thoroughly 
  6. Remove dough from fridge
  7. Add butter or nonstick spray to cooking container 
  8. Line container with dough 
  9. Add apples with filling into the container
  10. Fold extra dough over edges
  11. Cook for 30-45 minutes or until edges are brown

Serve with ice cream and enjoy!!
